Scotch Egg |
Ingredients
- 300g Sausage Meat
- 5 Hard-boiled Eggs
- 1 egg for coating (not boiled)
- 1 cube of Maggi
- 2 cups of All purpose Flour
- 2 cups of Dried Breadcrumbs
- Oil for deep frying
- ½ teaspoon of Salt
- A pinch of dry Pepper
- 3 Cups of water
Method:
- Season your sausage with Maggi, salt and pepper.
- Boil eggs for about 10-15 minutes and set in a separate bowl of cold water for easier peeling.
- Break and whisk the other egg for coating the scotch egg and set aside.
- Peel the hard boiled eggs and set aside. Scoop and Mould with the eggs with sausage meat.
- Dip in whisked egg then bread crumbs and finally in the bowl of flour. Set aside for about 15 minutes and roll again in bread crumbs.
- Deep Fry in hot oil till brown and crisp on medium heat and allow enough time for sausage meat to cook through.
- This should take approximately 3-4 minutes of deep frying.
